Reta Jo Lewis is an advocate, public servant, attorney and diplomat. She has spent her entire adult life in service to her community and country and has a national reputation as an advocate for the inclusion and equal participation of minorities and women in all segments of government, business and society. For 35 years, Reta has made her home in Washington, D.C., and currently resides in Ward 6.
Reta’s career in public service began in 1978 and has included work in the public, private and non-profit sectors. In 1991, she served as the Chief of Staff for the D.C. Department of Public Works. Throughout her career as an attorney and public servant, Reta has addressed critical issues by forging local, national and international partnerships and alliances between people, businesses, organizations and governments. She has decades of experience working with Members of the U.S. Congress, the Executive branch, and state and local officials.
